Maddox laughed again, amused by her words as he rolled his eyes, “I’m sure. Anyone as fantastic as you has got to have the beauty to match.” He knew that he was being extremely cheesy, something that he detested usually, but for some reason he wanted to say those sorts of things around Charlee. He wanted to show her how much he cared, be it through words, actions or anything else that he could think of.
As he got dressed, he thought of possible places to go. “Hogsmeade sounds lovely.” He grabbed a pair of sunglasses off his nightstand, sliding them up the brim of his nose, flashing Charlee a grin. “Let’s walk around a bit before hand, I need to stretch out my muscles.” That really wasn’t an issue, but he enjoyed being in Charlee’s company and would do anything to extend the amount of time that they spent together, even if it was just going on a little detour in their walk. He raised an eyebrow at her next statement, unsure of what she meant. Then he realized she was referring to their currently entwined hands and a grin crawled up to his face as he squeezed her hand, “Let it! Who the fuck cares who sees, right?” It would be a strange sight to see the two of them as a couple, but there was no use in dwelling on what other people think.
Maddox gladly accepted the cigarette she placed upon his lips, them curling up slightly as she kissed his cheek, “Thanks, Kitty.” He took a drag and pulled the fag from his lips, “Let’s just go to Hogsmeade. I’ll buy you some candy and booze.” He smirked at her as they began to walk, Maddox’s sensitive ears picking up the chatter of students around them. And their focus? The two of them. He ignored their babbling and continued to walk, taking occasional drags from his cig as they simply enjoyed each others company, something that Maddox couldn’t say he had ever experienced with anyone else before.
Charlee agreed silently to a bit of a walk before going to Hogsmeade, hoping they wouldn’t go into Honeydukes, or even the Three Broomsticks. She’d already eaten half a bag of grapes today, which was far too much. She enjoyed spending time with Maddox, and a longer walk meant more time she got to have with him, even if it was just to stretch out his muscles. Despite the inevitable talk that would happen—the two sluts in a relationship. As though that’ll work—Charlee felt better after Maddox affirmed he couldn’t care less. Usually, Charlee couldn’t either. When it came to what people said about her, she shrugged it off and continued living life however she wanted to. But something about being with Maddox, showing a weakness of a sort, made her nervous. People would start to actually know her.
The two continued their walk, students rambling in the background. Charlee caught a few glances from various students, but assumed they were just chatting and looking around. Or, that’s what she hoped. By the expression on Maddox’s face, however, she knew it was safe to say the students were chatting about them. With a quick smirk, Charlee unlatched her hand from his and ran it up and down his back, and into his back pocket. It wasn’t overly sexy or anything; it just showed everyone around them that she didn’t give a damn what they had to say.
Maddox offered her booze and candy. Damn. That meant going into Honeydukes. Charlee decided to just work out an excuse not to have Maddox waste his money on something she wouldn’t use. She’d figure something out by the time they got to their destination. As they walked toward the edge of the Hogwarts grounds, they smoked their cigarettes mostly in silence until Charlee began to speak again. “I think…this was a really good idea,” she affirmed, speaking of both the trip to Hogsmeade, and of their decision to be a couple. Or try to be, at least. Charlee still remained weary on how well it would work out, but she hoped the feeling would pass, because she wanted what they had to last.
